Traveling Abroad and Why You Should Visit The UK

Do you love to travel or want to start traveling? If you answered YES, then continue reading.

As a kid, my family didn’t have the money to take vacations, but I always had it in my mind that I wanted to go to London. My dream came through when I moved to the United Kingdom for my job.

Being in the military, I get to see many beautiful places, and I must say, the UK is beautiful and one of my favorite places to live, along with Portugal. The green landscape puts me at ease as I take it all in during my drives to work or for leisure.

Okay, enough about me, and here is why you should visit the UK.

Cities. – There are many beautiful places to visit with amazing views and architectures. If you are into history and what happened in the past then this is a place you need to visit. Here are a few of the United Kingdom amazing cities that are a must to visit:

The City of London – Everything that you need is here. From nightlife, history, fashion and more. Its a great place to see the King and Queen of England if you are into the monarchy of the royal family. In London, you have all the known landmarks that you see on TV, such as the London Bridge, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, etc. My best friend visited for the first time she we has a blast site seeing.   This place reminds me of New York City, which means, there’s lots to do and the streets are busy.

The City of Bath– A small city that is rich with history and culture of the Roman Bathhouse.  Here, you get to explore and relive how the city of Bath was created, how the rich lived and how they came to be, and more. By visiting Bath you can find more information about the city and the Roman Bath, there is a small fee to enter the Bathhouse that you have to pay.

The City of Cambridge – Is famous for its universities, nightlife, museum, and foods. This city is busy as well, and there are many restaurant options, so when you come bring your appetite with you. Click here to get more information.

People– The people I’ve interacted with have been great and helpful when I have questions.  They go out of their way to assist and I love their accent. This picture below is of my best friend, me and a woman name Zena whom we met in London while traveling. She saw us trying to figure out the train system, and she automatically says, “Come with me” and she helped us until we got on the correct train. Her personality was great and she was excited to help us.

The UK is a melting of the people who of all ethnicity and I LOVE IT!

Food- When I first arrived in the United Kingdom (UK) everyone said the food was bland, but I’m not big on salt so when I tried the food, I enjoyed it. Some foods  are bland depending the restaurants, but it’s an easy fix to that, salt and pepper. I love to try new foods and if you are the same way, then you will not regret coming here. There are many options to choose.

Living in the UK, I get to explore all types of fresh foods and pastries. One of my favorite vegan dish to eat here is the Sweet Potato and Chick Peas Curry.  Delicious!

This pictures is of a dish that I enjoyed while in the city of Bath.

It’s not just the restaurants or cafes that produces fresh foods; the supermarkets have fresh produce, meats,  bountiful option of organic products, pastries and more at a reasonable price.

When your here in the UK, you have more opportunities to fly to other countries at a low cost ($23 dollars) utilizing Ryan Air. You can do a day trip or go for an extended stay. This is the place to visit!R

Remember you have one life to live, so why not take the opportunity to travel and explore what the UK has to offer. Go on and get lost in the culture, history, food, people, and night-life.

Question- Where is your next vacation?

I loved my vacation to the UK. I enjoyed exploring some of the history of London. I loves all of the restaurants as well. They had some very delicious dishes. Where I live we don’t have fresh markets and that is something that I would like to have. The people are very nice and always was willing to help out when it was needed. I will definitely be back. My next vacation will be to Cozumel Mexico.
